Hosts Miles Ross and Stephanie Snowden were joined by Treyarch devs (Matt Scronce, Yale Miller, et al.) to break down Multiplayer maps, modes, and new features. Footage showed 6 new maps, multiple modes (including the all-new Overload), and weapons—all playable in the Beta.
Set in 2035, the game blends new tech with classic Black Ops style. Devs walked through map design, Loadouts, progression, and movement changes, highlighting how fresh gameplay and near-future elements tie into Multiplayer.
2.1 Map Design: Classic 3-Lane Style, Vibrant Locations
The event focused on 6 of 18 launch maps—all playable in the Beta: Blackheart, Cortex, Exposure, Forge, Imprint, Toshin.
Treyarch’s vision: fast, frenetic gameplay on vibrant, narrative-driven maps (classic 3-lane design). To boost pacing, more standard-sized maps let players clash head-on or flank.
Launch maps span diverse, story-linked locations:
Covert Guild facilities in Japan
David Mason’s childhood cabin (Alaskan wilderness)
High-tech solar array (Australian Outback)
Footage showed matches of Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, and Overload—leaning into tight, cover-to-cover gameplay core to Black Ops.
More at Launch: Beyond Core Multiplayer, the new 20v20 Skirmish mode arrives with 2 large maps. Traverse via armored vehicles, ATVs, grapple, or wingsuit—adding new ways to reach objectives.
2.2 New Game Mode: Overload (Beta + Launch)
Overload pits teams against each other to control the Overload Device—pick it up and carry it to one of the enemy’s 2 control zones.
The device’s position is visible on HUD/Tac-Map.
Carriers get extra intel.
The device swaps hands in intense back-and-forth; winning means protecting your carrier to overload the enemy.
Beta players can try Overload, plus Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Hardcore, and surprises.
2.3 Next-Level Omnimovement
Black Ops 7 polishes Black Ops 6’s Omnimovement system—fast, fluid action with new tweaks:
Wall Jump: Propel over gaps or reach higher surfaces. Chain up to 3 jumps (each shortens momentum/distance). Some maps have deadly drops—wall jumps are needed to survive.
Movement Speed Adjustments: Tac Sprint is off by default; all Operators get higher base speed. Want Tac Sprint? Unlock it via a Multiplayer Perk. Customize further with Perks like Lightweight, Dexterity, Gung Ho.
